Yakima’s Performance Park looked more like Hawktown USA Thursday afternoon when the Seattle Seahawks “12 Tour” bus rolled into town. Boom, the mini mascot, members of the Blue Thunder drum line, several of the Sea Gals cheerleading squad, and players Jimmy Staten and Super Bowl hero Chris Matthews held a quick, loud and inspiring rally for Yakima fans.

The team was about a half-hour late and the 90-plus-degree heat might have chased a few fans into the shade, but at its peak Yakima Police estimated the crowd at around 500 -- most decked out in green hair, team jerseys and caps, and waving signs to form a blue and green seawall of support for the back-to-back NFC champs.

The rally ended with the raising of the "12th Man" flag atop the Larson Building as the bus rolled off, headed to the Tri-Cities for another round of Seahawk hysteria!

If the rally has you ready for some football, the preseason kickoff is just 50 days away against the Denver Broncos on Aug. 14. The first regular-season game will be Sunday, Sept. 13, at the St. Louis Rams.

Here's what Matthews and Staten had to say about the team's 2015 campaign:
