Lately, Selena Gomez has been the subject of a ton of breaking news. Not long after word broke that she was spotted holding hands with her possibly ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber last night comes a new report that Gomez was taken to a Los Angeles hospital this morning for a potential strep throat infection.

Perez Hilton quotes a source who says Gomez has been battling a sore throat for days and decided to head to the emergency room this morning (Nov. 19) to get a diagnosis. Reportedly, doctors don’t believe she has strep, but tests results won’t be back for a few days. The source says Gomez’s stepfather was suffering from bronchitis, so she may have picked it up too.

Gomez wasn’t seen at the American Music Awards, and Bieber didn’t mention her in his acceptance speeches, though he and Nicki Minaj did name-drop Gomez in their performance of ‘Beauty and a Beat,’ rather than removing her name from the lyrics.

Gomez hit up an AMA afterparty last night with Bieber at the Bootsy Bellows nightclub in West Hollywood. A source said, “They seemed to be in great spirits and were clearly enjoying their time together.” Depending on how cozy they got last night, Bieber may want to get himself checked for strep as well.
