A moment of sheer joy turned into a moment of horror last week during a soccer a match in India when a player who scored a goal injured his spine while celebrating and later died.

Peter Biaksangzuala, 23, of Bethlehem Vengthlang, had just scored to knot his squad's match against Chanmari West at 1-1. You can watch video of the accident above, but please note the sensitive nature.

Like most soccer players, Biaksangzuala began celebrating, doing a somersault and landing on his head. Teammates rushing over to him quickly realized something was wrong. He was taken to a hospital with spinal damage and remained in ICU for five days before passing away.

The Mizoram Premier League, in which Bethlehem Vengthlang plays, released a statement on its Facebook page after his death honoring him:
