Rock the Vote Yakima!

Voters in the city of Yakima are deciding whether to change the city’s form of government and several school districts have bond measures on today’s election ballot.

Ballots must be postmarked by tonight to be counted.

Proposition 1 before Yakima voters seeks to install a strong-mayor form of government, replacing the council-manager form that has been in effect since the late 1950s.

Turnout in Yakima has been forecast at slightly more than 42 percent.

Selah, Wapato, East Valley and Prosser are seeking approval of bond measures for new school buildings.
