Iconic Yakima independent record store Off The Record is shuttering their doors for good in less than a few weeks. To close it up with a bang, they will have an entire day of live music from local bands performing on their indoor stage this weekend.

Another local business is about to bite the dust -- but does it really have to?

Yakima native,Davis High School and Eastern Washington University alum Cooper Kupp, a third-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Rams, will make an appearance at a fundraising event in Yakima on Saturday, June 24.

I am so glad that Off The Record is still around. It makes me happy that there are still ways to buy music rather than just a download. I love the old-school sound vinyl makes when that diamond needle drops.

It was only two years ago that our favorite hometown record store, Off The Record, was for sale. The previous owner, Rich Koch, decided to retire and offered to grant someone else the opportunity to run the store that's been here for more than 30 years...
