I don't make "To Do" lists, I make a "TA DA! LIST."

Whenever I write up a 'To Do' list, nine times out of ten, I will NOT get anything done. I have to psych myself out sometimes, and I came up with the "Ta Da!" list as a creative way to get me excited about mundane tasks by inserting FUN tasks.

Today, my fun task is eating my bag of sour cream potato chips in peace.

I will more than likely hide in the bedroom closet to eat my chips so that my five-year old daughter, Willow, won't catch me. She always seems to want whatever it is that I am eating. Case in point, last night, we went to a friend's birthday party and they passed out some mini-cupcakes. Willow ate hers (she put the whole thing in her mouth right as I was telling her to please take SMALL bites). Then she snatched my mini-cupcake off the table, licked it, and had the nerve to ask if I was going to eat it.

Not any more! Gee, thanks, kiddo!

This Thanksgiving weekend, I plan to "take a deep breath and be where my feet are".

I saw that line somewhere in an email a co-worker gave me, and for some reason, it resonated with me. So no, I will not be making any "Ta Da!" lists for the next four days, and I plan to leave all thoughts of work, looming bills, and post-election stress at the front door. I'm going to listen to a bunch of my favorite songs, like "Mercy" by Shawn Mendes to help me relax, and I'll probably decorate the house for Christmas. My daughter found a Kidz Bop Christmas playlist on YouTube, so we'll probably be listening to that all weekend.

Whatever you have planned this Thanksgiving, I hope that you, too, remember to "take a deep breath and be where your feet are"! #MolinaMindfulMoments
