Baby Joel's been talking about his favorite buffet in his old town and asking what we have along those lines here. Unfortunately, Yakima isn't really known for it's variety of buffet restaurants. There's a few Chinese buffet places, there's Legends Casino and we do have Old Country Buffet at Valley Mall in Union Gap. Sure, why not? Let's check out Old Country Buffet.

As we walk in, he immediately notices they have a full dinner menu of basically anything you can think of. But we're just there for lunch -- the dinner menu's not available yet. Still, there's more than enough to fill us up.

We grab our plates and he fills his up. I remind him that Old Country Buffet is all-you-can-eat, so there's no need to stack food on other food. There's also a full drink area with tea, coffee, pop, milk and even Icees.

We both get two plates worth, he grabs a third for good measure, but I'm done after two because I need to make room for dessert.

On the way out, I remember that Jell-O, the one thing Baby Joel mentioned, was untouched while we were there. I think he contemplated just grabbing some with his hand, but his conscience told him better.

Always a great experience and, as it turns out, both this place and his previous buffet are owned by the same corporation. So even though he's away from his old town, he has a piece of it here in Yakima at Old Country Buffet.

Where should we take Baby Joel next? Sound off in the comments below.
