Taylor Swift to Take in Ethel Kennedy Film at Sundance
In her new Vogue spread, cover girl Taylor Swift revealed that she was starstruck when she met Ethel Kennedy. Now, the ‘Safe and Sound‘ singer will meet the 83-year-old Kennedy once more at the Sundance Film Festival.
The Daily News reports that Swift will attend the Sundance Film Festival for the first time this Friday for the premiere of the HBO documentary ‘Ethel,’ about Ethel Kennedy (widow of Robert Kennedy). The documentary was directed by Kennedy’s daughter, Rory.
What draws Swift to Kennedy? A hopeless romantic, Swift revealed that Ethel Kennedy’s relationship with husband Bobby warmed her heart.
“I got to spend the afternoon with Ethel a couple of weeks ago,” Swift told Vogue in December. “She is one of my favorites, because you look back at the pictures of her and Bobby and they always look like they are having the most fun out of everybody.” Too cute!
Sundance will be a good way for Swift to get her feet wet in the film festival circuit. Since her bit part as Felicia in the 2010 ensemble romcom ‘Valentine’s Day,’ Swift has been increasingly involved in movies. She provided her sweet voice to Audrey in the animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ ‘The Lorax,’ in theaters March 2. More notably, Swift snagged the coveted role of Eponine in the highly anticipated ‘Les Miserables’ film, due in theaters Dec. 7.
While she munches on popcorn watching her idol Ethel, fans will be eagerly awaiting the opportunity to do the same for Swift’s movies!
