I still have to get our costumes ready, I am so bad at procrastinating! My daughter, Willow, wants to be a cheetah, so I have a long black dress for her to wear to ward off the chilly weather, and I plan to do some cheetah-y makeup on her face, plus I'll doll her hair up in two Afro puffs to mimic cheetah ears. Real simple, yet cute. My costume is supposed to be "Mother Nature" (see my video here) but I have yet to glue down any vines and I haven't bought any green or brown makeup to simulate me being a tree.

Nevertheless, tonight, I will whittle away on the costumes in my lab (and by lab I mean on the dining room table) and finish up these costumes so that this weekend we can go to these fun events: Haunted Trolley Museum and Dia De Los Muertos events for Willow, and a Halloween Drag party on Saturday night, just for us grown folks!

Haunted Trolley Museum (South Third Avenue & West Pine St, Yakima): You can go on either Saturday (Noon to 6pm) or Sunday (Noon to 5pm), and the price of admission is free for kids (Ages 5 and under), and $15 for adults. They'll have a haunted museum tour, trolley rides, face painting with a couple of haunted characters, a photo booth, plus pumpkins, food and beverages for sale.

Fabulous Drag Life's Halloween Freak Night (101 N Naches Ave, Yakima): Strap on your dancing shoes and your fabulous Halloween costume and get your booty over to The Seasons Performance Hall on Saturday night for this annual and "fabulous" party event complete with a DJ, and a spooky drag show. Tickets are $10 for ages 17+ (you MUST bring ID). Doors open at 9pm, the Drag Show begins at 10:30 and the party don't stop til 2am!

Dia De Los Muertos Community Celebration (608 Wisconsin Ave, Tieton, Washington 98947): Head over to Mighty Tieton Warehouse to enjoy this annual event from Noon to 5pm on Sunday. You and the family will experience a piece of the beautiful Latinx culture that honors loved ones who have passed away. Facepainting, screen printing, community altars, arts and crafts activities, and a taco truck will be on site, according to the facebook page. If you come dressed as Catrina or Catrin, you can enter the costume contest.
