T.I. is on his independent grind for the moment. Last week, he dropped his new EP, Da’ Nic, under his rap alias Tip. Earlier today (Sept. 16), the Atlanta rhymer appeared on Ebro in the Morning to talk about the project as well other topics, including parting ways with Iggy Azalea.

During the conversation, Ebro asked Tip about his current relationship with the Aussie rhymer. T.I. admitted that he hasn’t spoken with Azalea in a long time. Although she has made many missteps in her career, the Hustle Gang leader feels she can overcome them and get back in the game. "It's very difficult to be a new kid and the butt of the jokes and the direction of the negativity," he explained.

The "Peanut Butter Jelly" rapper added that once he came to Azalea's rescue after she got into a heated Twitter feud with Q-Tip, he had to step back and let the "Fancy" rapper grow as an artist. He feels that Azalea and her creative team have the tools necessary to evolve from those negative situations.

The discussion then segued to Drake and Meek Mill's infamous rap feud. On the Philly native's "Wanna Know" diss, he raps about Tip's drunken friend pissing on Drake in a movie theater. T.I. quickly avoids the topic altogether by talking about the Atlanta Falcons win against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.

Ebro and the gang then ask T.I. if he'll develop biopic in the same vein as Straight Outta Compton. The self-proclaimed "King of the South" said he's not ready for his life story to be told on the big screen. He even squashes plans that an ATL 2 movie will happen. According to him, the project is in development hell.

Finally, Tip opens up about his next full-length album, The Dime Trap, which he hopes to have ready for release before the end of the year. "The music serves as an outlet. It's what I'm passionate about and what I do best," he said. "That's what Da' Nic and The Dime Trap is for. It's my intention to dedicate this part of my career to my day one fans. The cats that discovered Tip...and have stayed loyal to Tip."
