The season finale of Fox's hit TV show Empire aired Wednesday night to the delight of many on social media, particularly Twitter. Unless you've been sleeping under a rock, we're pretty sure you've either seen or heard of the show, which stars Terrence Howard as music mogul Lucious Lyon and Taraji P. Henson as his estranged wife, Cookie Lyon, an ex-con who's looking to get her piece of the Lyon empire.

Created by Lee Daniels, the hip-hopera is centered around a family embroiled in a power struggle over control of their record company and the millions of dollars that come with it. Gaining steady traction over the course of the show's first season and increasing its audience weekly, it has emerged as the hottest new show on television, especially among the coveted teenage and young adult demographic, whom have sung Empire's praises and helped turn it into a cultural phenomenon.

The epic two-hour finale kept us all on the edge of our seats. By the time all was said and done, it had us clamoring for answers. Will Andre and his girlfriend get away with murdering Vernon? Will Hakeem be able to coexist with Jamal and where does his fling with Anika go from here? And most pressing of all, without the prosecutor's star witness and with him being all but cured of ALS, what will Lucious' next move be?

We'll have to wait until the next season comes around to find out, but what we do know is that Twitter had a field day throughout the show, flooding timelines with an array of hilarious tweets, GIFs, memes and everything in between. We dug up a few of the most outrageous jokes we came across and decided to share our findings with the people. Be sure you're not eating or drinking while reading this post because uncontrollable laughter is bound to ensue.
