Lifetime's biopic 'Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B' "broke the Internet" this weekend with fans and critics blasting the televised story of the late singer. Wendy Williams defended her position as the movie's executive producer on her morning talk show Monday.

"Everybody got an opinion!" the comedienne laughed. "Whether you loved or hate, you watched." Wendy then cited that the movie was the second highest-rated movie on all of cable this year. "We all have opinions!"

Social media users on Twitter and Instagram certainly had strong opinions after seeing the film. Aaliyah's longtime producer, Timbaland, criticized the movie and urged fans not to watch it. "Lifetime disrespects Aaliyah!" he exclaimed on Instagram.

Fans were shocked at the film for its unrealistic casting as well as the overall flimsy plot, taking to Twitter and Instagram in a series of hilarious memes to voice their disapproval.
