Although $5,000 would cover a nice computer, webcam, nice microphone and all the video games you need to get started, you still need 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time before you start seeing any money come in. Nice to have all that stuff, but if it's just to be on YouTube, it's not necessary.
