What To Get Into This Weekend Around Our Beautiful Valley

Woohoo looks like this weekend (as of early Friday morning as I write this) we are getting a small break in the heat wave that has been scorching the Northwest!

Soooo what can you get into?

FRIDAY - August 10th 

The Yakima Valley Fair & Rodeo Friday August 10th & 11th located at 812 Wallace Way, Grandview Country Fair Park. I can't believe this thing has been going on for 91 years! Friday and Saturday night don't miss the Pro-West Rodeo that begins at 7:30pm each night. There will also be the 13th annual car show on Saturday from 10am-2pm and the fair hours each day will be from 9am-12am on Friday and Saturday!

Summer Concerts in the park! Every Friday night at Franklin Park from 6:30pm-8:30pm bring the family, blankets, snacks and water to enjoy a FREE concert in the park. There are only two left! August 10th Ron Jiles Band (Blues) and Friday August 17th Joe Brooks Quartet (Jazz)

SATURDAY - August 11th 

Cruise The Ave - Saturday August 11th ( and again Saturday September 8th) from 6pm-10pm The Downtown Association of Yakima hosts 'Cruise The Ave' nights! We have a beautiful downtown area and this is a perfect chance for you to bring your chairs, family and snacks (for free) to catch some of the most beautiful cars cruise the ave, which takes place every second Saturday of each summer month. The cruising will go from 6th street to 7th ave all evening long :) Hope to see you out there!

Taco Wars in Sunnyside! I was SO looking forward to judging this BUT Reesha from Mega is now going to be eating all the delicious tacos and helping choose the winner! What a great day to bring the family out and taste the incredible tacos our valley has to offer! Second Saturday in Selah - Guns and Hoses Golf Tournament
Saturday, August 11th | 9 AM - 12 Noon at River Ridge Golf Course and Restaurant, 295 Golf Course Loop Hosted by Christina Williams Farmers Insurance Agency and River Ridge Golf Course. Come out and support both local Firefighters and Police at River Ridge Golf Course! With food, shaved ice, inflatables, yard games, great prizes and a raffle, it's going to be fun for all ages and a great way to show your support!

This is a benefit tournament with all proceeds going to Rod's House, a resource center for homeless and at-risk youth in the Yakima Valley.

Jayleigh Ann & The Lost Boys (we had them live in the studio) will be performing at the Apple Tree Resort from 7pm-9pm and listening is free :)

Unique Airplane Presentations and Flying Demonstrations at McAllister Museum of Aviation - This Saturday at 10am "Unique Airplane Presentations" and also again next Saturday August 18th this is a free event with an upclose viewing area

SUNDAY August 12th 

*Yakima Farmers' Market at Valley Mall from 9am-2pm located in the parking lot near Sears come on over and enjoy fresh produce, vendors and so much more!

All ages open mic night every Sunday at the Yakima Sports Center this is FREE and begins at 7pm so it's probably a good idea to get there about 6:30pm to get yourself a spot

Viva La Musica in the Park, located at Martin Luther King Park south 8th street and east beech this Sunday August 12th Los Plebes di Tierra Caliente and Sunday August 19th Avion

Outdoor Summer Cinema Series at Chesterley Park August 12th starting at sunset about 7:45pm there will be a FREE showing of Guardians of the Galaxy rated pg-13. Next Sunday August 19th The Lion King will be the last showing of the summer!

Kids shoot for free at The Range Sundays 11am-7pm. Kids ages 7-17 shoot free with an adult. The Range is great place for families to come and be safe environment while shooting. Educate, Equip, Empower!

Open Mic at North Town Coffee, located at 32 North Front Street from 8pm-10pm every Sunday night this is all ages and it's free
