Most ring in the new year with resolutions; the breaking of bad habits or trying to obtain new goals for a new you. Of course this can be difficult as they're usually broken within the first month. Here are a few common resolutions and places in Yakima that can help you along the to keep you strong in your new year's resolutions.

  • Lose Weight

    Yakima Athletic Club

Being that I only took one trimester of Nutrition 101 at YVC, I'm no health expert. But if losing weight is on your list, consider more than just exercise. Yes, that'll help, too, but it's what you eat, when you eat, and how much you eat, when you eat, that can cause problems for you. Yakima Athletic Club can help you with both exercising at your pace and learning more about nutrition. That'd be the first place I'd go.

  • Quit Smoking

    Yakima Regional

I don't need to tell you smoking is a bad habit. Smokers, themselves, can tell you it's a bad habit. It also takes a smoker to know that just quitting can be very difficult. I know Yakima Regional have provided Quit Smoking classes in the past. I believe they may even be free. If you're looking to quit smoking, you may try contacting them to see when the next sessions are.

  • Get Out Of Debt

    Groenig Financial Group

Let's face it, 2011 has been a rough year for everyone, financial speaking. Everyone seems to take a bit of a hit during the holiday season as well. Fortunately, Groenig Financial Group is in town and can help you get back on the right path of getting out of debt - even in the path of saving money.

  • Learn Something New

    Yakima Valley Community College

One item I see from time to time is to better one's self with learning a new language, learning how build something - basically, they want to go to school. I was a late bloomer when it came to my time at YVC. I thought most of the students would be fresh out of high school which many of them were. There a lot of students that were also much older, in their 20s, 30s, 40s. All ages are accepted at YVC. It's never too late to learn something new.

  • Spend More Time With Family

    Meadowbrook Family Fun Center

Spending time with your family is probably the easiest and the hardest to accomplish. Easy to do, but hard to find dedicated time for. My favorite place to go with my family is Meadowbrook Family Fun Center. We can be there anytime from half an hour to 4 hours and have just as much fun. Even in the winter months we'll go here just to play the video games.
