Wiz Khalifa's mother Katie Wimbush-Polk launched a lawsuit against Amber Rose Tuesday, alleging defamation. Wiz and Rose ended their marriage in 2016. At the time they had announced that they intended to keep the relationship cordial for their son's sake, although things have not been smooth for the pair since.

As reported by the Washington Observer-Reporter, the suit comes after Rose allegedly "made a profanity-laced phone call to a third party," in which she accused Wimbush-Polk of calling Child Welfare Services on Rose and causing the death of Khalifa's sister Dorien Thomaz, who died earlier this year of lymphoma complications. Rose apparently called a number linked to Wimbush-Polk's account but the person who picked up was the five-year-old niece of one of her friends and former employees. Wimbush-Polk denies calling Child Services.

Wimbush-Polk is demanding damages of more than $50,000, including court costs, interest, punitive and other damages. Her court statement claims that Rose's tirade was malicious, caused harm toWimbush-Polk's reputation and "caused her to be humiliated and suffer severe mental anguish."

Neither Rose nor Khalifa have commented at this time, and tension hangs thick. As we begin to understand how harmful to children and their relationships with their parents interactions with Child Services and foster homes can be, the threat of a call from the service is as concerning as the threat of danger to a child.
