So far we've only seen a handful of photos and a teaser for Wonder Woman’s upcoming solo debut, but Warner Bros. made sure to bring some surprises to San Diego Comic-Con today. After playing a brief teaser featuring logos for their upcoming DC movies and introducing their diverse lineup of directors (including James Wan and Rick Famuyiwa), WB debuted the first full, official trailer for Wonder Woman.

Stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, and Connie Nielsen joined director Patty Jenkins on stage to reveal the new trailer, which offered up a blend of action, humor and beautiful cinematography — further validating our optimism in Wonder Woman’s solo adventure. In addition to giving us a better sense of the film’s tone and style, Gadot is seriously badass in the trailer, like the moment when it’s revealed that she’s been hiding a sword in her dress.

Gadot has previously described the movie as “pretty dark,” showing a much more naive Diana than the one we first met in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but this new trailer suggests we may not have to worry about the film being as dark and gloomy as Zack Snyder’s superhero showdown.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman was written by Allan Heinberg and DC Comics’ Geoff Johns, and will also star Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Ewen Bremner, Lucy Davis, Elena Anaya and Said Taghmaoui. The film opens June 2, 2017.
