Here in the Yakima Valley, we don't get much rain on this side of the mountains, so many were caught off guard when the weather forecast called for rain on this summer morning.

This morning, after dropping my daughter off at pre-K, I was driving down the road on West Nob Hill Boulevard and I noticed there were several men doing some road construction in the left-hand turning lane. About four minutes later, it started pouring down rain and I thought, "Dang, it would suck to have to be out there working in the rain like that!"

That made me think of a few other jobs that right off the top of my head must be the worst Yakima jobs to have on a rainy day.

    Construction (Road, Home, Business)

It must stink to have to be out there working in the rain. If you are a roofer, road construction worker, or involved in home/business construction jobs that require you to be outside, then you have my deepest sympathies!

    Teacher

It must be hard to be a teacher stuck inside the classroom on a rainy day. You have all those little kids running around in the classroom acting all crazy, with no chance of going outside to play and burn off all that energy. Teachers, you, too, have my deepest sympathies!

    Lifeguard

If you are a lifeguard and it is a rainy day, do they send you home from work? If so, are you getting paid for being sent home from work? Missing out on money=Miss me with that mess! You, too, dear lifeguard, have my deepest sympathies!
