The Washington State Department of Transportation is warning weekend travelers headed east on I-90 to plan ahead for major delays near Vantage due to increased traffic for the Watershed Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre.

A major contributing factor to the snarl will be crews repainting the bridge that spans the Columbia River. The roadway will be consolidated into a single lane for eastbound drivers until the end of summer,  24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Concert-goers and motorists should expect delays Thursday (July 30) through Saturday, (Aug. 1) and should plan for about an hour or more of added travel time. The DOT suggests taking an alternate route via US 97, I-82 or SR 24. The westbound lanes will not be affected.
