Yakima Maker Space is a great place to take your kids, and I promise you'll be amazed as well. And just in time for the holidays, they're offering several all-ages workshops and events in the coming days. Here are a few seasonal offerings you can take advantage of.

3D Printer Workshop

$550 gets you everything you need to build your own 3D printer and start printing exciting custom objects -- they give you all the help you need. The continuous workshop meets Tuesday nights from 6-8. Students receive dedicated help from the instructor, as well as volunteer members of Yakima's RepRap community. You can also take your printer home to build whenever you choose!

Christmas Shopping Central

Here's your shop for fair trade and locally made goods. It's open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.

String of Cheer Tonight!

It's not too late, there's still a little room! Enjoy a festive evening at Maker Space and help create a long "string of cheer" for home decoration. Bring four favorite photos of family or friends to add to the string.

Kids' Gnome Ornament Workshop

Make wine cork gnomes with little wooden heads and paper hats with a variety of materials from glitter and glue from the marymakesart paper stash! Each child can make two gnome ornaments, one for home and one for a gift!
