Your Pre-Memorial Day Checklist — From Gas to Traffic to More Patrols

Memorial Day is coming this weekend and it's not coming alone. There are several things that happen every year during Memorial Day weekend so we want to remind you of a few of these things so you can plan in advance.

Gas Prices Go Up
Every year, gas prices usually seem to raise a good 10-20 cents, it seems. Best to fill your tank now while you can.

Increased Traffic
Memorial Day is one of the busiest traveling days of the year. I'm guessing it's because it's an official kick-off of summer. Traffic will be at an all-time terrible.

Increased DUI Patrols
They'll be out in full force looking for you or anyone driving like you. Play it safe.

Full Camping Spots
If you're planning on going camping, leave as early as possible or, better yet, have someone you know go there in advanced. Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest camping weekends in the year so those spots fill up quickly.

Cemeteries
They'll be full of those remembering loved ones. Plan and park accordingly

Lack of Supplies
Stock up at stores in advance if you need marshmallows, graham crackers, beer, chips, hot dogs and those little pinwheels. Those are usually first to go.
