Just weeks after announcing her involvement in the forthcoming Aaliyah biopic, actress Zendaya Coleman will no longer play the 'More Than a Woman' singer.

E! News reports that a rep for Zendaya informed the entertainment network that "Zendaya is no longer involved in the project."

Lifetime, the network producing the biopic, confirmed the information yesterday afternoon (June 29) and even announced that this puts a delay on the film altogether.

This isn't the first obstacle the TV network has experienced. Aaliyah's family has already threatened to block the rights to using any of the late singer's songs in the film, titled ‘Aaliyah: Princess of R&B.' Her family claims that a made-for-TV movie is too small for the chart-topping singer -- they want her story shown on the silver screen in theaters.

With the project on hold for now, it looks like we'll have to wait even longer to see who will play the late songstress.
