We want to spotlight different members of the community. Today it our pleasure to tell you about U.S. Army Reserve Sgt. Catherine Sisk.

Here's what Catherine's daughter, Brittany Schlotman, says about her hero of a mom.

My mother Catherine has served in the U.S. Army Reserves for over 10 years. In that time she's been placed on active duty four times, volunteered as an East Valley firefighter and been an amazing mother to us four children. Just Yesterday (July 29th) at the Old Town Station restaurant, a man started to choke. My mother ran to aid the man and administered CPR. The man was saved and believe it or not this was not the first time Catherine has saved a life. My mother has trained hundreds of our U.S. troops and I don't think she believes how much of a hero that she really is.

If you have someone you want to have in Yakima Valley's Hometown Heroes, make sure you send us their info so we can feature them on the air and on our website.
