Halsey is set to star in an upcoming biopic about her life, according to a report from Deadline.

The movie, produced by Sony, will be made in the style of Eminem's 2002 drama 8 Mile, loosely chronicling the 23-year-old's rise from New Jersey hopeful to reigning pop star.

The "Bad at Love" singer first broke big with Chainsmoker team-up "Closer" in 2016, scoring her first No. 1 record with 2017's Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, her second studio album.

She's also become a vocal advocate for mental health and sexual assault, speaking candidly about her battle with endometriosis and delivering a rousing, widely praised speech at the 2018 Women's March in New York City.

Last year, she opened up about being biracial and her struggle to navigate two disparate identities.

“I look like a white girl, but I don’t feel like one. I’m a black woman. So it’s been weird navigating that," she told Playboy. "When I was growing up I didn’t know if I was supposed to love TLC or Britney."

Halsey is currently on the road in Australia for the final leg of her Hopeless Fountain Kingdom tourwhich wraps September 26 following stops across Europe, Latin America, Asia, Canada, and the U.S. She also plays a small part in Bradley Cooper's Lady Gaga-fronted A Star Is Born, slated for release October 5.
