Quirky and Proud: Yakima’s Oddest Special Skill Claims

We asked the residents of the Yakima Valley what their special skills were, and instead of focusing on all of the truly spectacular skill sets that many people have, we decided to focus on the ones that made us ‘LOL’ out loud!

When we originally asked our audience to tell us about their special skills, we were bombarded with examples of their talents, and it is quite beautiful.

People who sing and play musical instruments, painters, sculptors and other artists, craftsmen and builders, comedians, magicians, and animal trainers all sent in information about their special skills.

Someone even sent in a photo of themselves dressed as a mime. When I wrote back asking them questions about how they got started in the world of miming, they didn’t answer… truly committed to their art.

The Special Skills Of Yakima We Decided To Focus On

But between all the genuine skills that took blood, sweat, and tears of practice and time, there were smart-aleck responses. Those are what we’re focusing on today for two reasons:

1: There were so many talents submitted this article would never be completed (but we are compiling the submissions for a later article).

2: These really entertained me, and I felt the need to share them with the public.
