I've started seeing more and more local businesses and restaurants get into the Yakima vibe by using all the great resources we have right in our own backyard. I've seen people sell Yakima Roll for sushi, Yakima Tacos, Yakima Pizza and basically any food you can think of, just add 'Yakima' to it and you're golden. Not to say it doesn't exist somewhere but I haven't seen anyone sell Yakima Wings, yet. Well, if they did, what would they be? Here's a few ideas I can think of if someone wanted to make Yakima Wings and throw it on a menu in town.

There has to be one that includes apples as a key ingredient. Fortunately, apples and chicken go very well together. You could season the chicken with a coating of apple glaze and cinnamon. I bet that'd be totally edible. Almost like a dessert wing.

Like apples our area is also known for it's cherries. Same concept but a cherry bourbon wing would be bomb, indeed.

Deccio's seasonings are hyper-specific to our town. Simple wings with their all-purpose (or ranch) would make them amazing. It's something you could even easily make at home.

I was thinking of something infused with hops. Hops, themselves, have kind of that bright, bitter flavor which wouldn't pair too well with wings but you could season them up with however you with, then sprinkle ground hops over them, might make them fun.

Fruit, aside, we have tons of peppers available in our region. Though our pepper are more sweet than not a sweet pepper wing would be an option.

I'm sure you have ideas, too. Tell us via the app.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery.
