First Course Delights: Must-Try Apps Served at Yakima’s 12 Hottest Spots
Do you ever feel sometimes that it's the appetizers that draw you into a restaurant? I am like that with some places.
The craving for a Bloomin' Onion, for instance, draws me to Outback Steakhouse, no matter which city I'm in. The rosemary garlic fries keep me coming back for lunch at Cowiche Canyon Kitchen in downtown Yakima. I can't resist them.
Yakima has some great places to have dinner in a unique, upscale restaurant, and they serve some tasty apps to boot.
I did a comparison of the appetizer menus at the 12 hottest spots in Yakima to see which ones came up the most.
The #1 popular appetizer in Yakima restaurants is calamari. You can get them fried up and seasoned to perfection at Zesta Cucina, Apple Tree Golf Course, Cowiche Canyon Kitchen, and WaterFire Restaurant.
Edamame is a popular appetizer in Yakima most upscale Asian restaurants. You can find them at EZ Tiger, Tokki-Ya, and Ozeki's Japanese Restaurant.
Another appetizer that you will find at several posh Yakima places is Thai-inspired food, such as nachos and chicken lettuce wraps. You can order both of these dishes at WaterFire.
Zesta Cucina is the place that started the food trend of Thai chicken lettuce wraps. They've been on their appetizer menu for ages and it's a huge draw in for the Happy Hour after-work crowd.
Other must-try appetizers in Yakima include the hummus plates, coconut prawns, dumplings, egg & spring rolls, and fried tofu.
