Last month the city put out a call for everyone to consider donating a tree from their property to the city and that's exactly what happened.

Less than 24 hours after arriving at Millenium Plaza in downtown Yakima, the city's community Christmas tree was erected and subsequently knocked down by the ferocious winds that the valley endured Tuesday night (11/26) and Wednesday morning.

Christmas -- or at least a Christmas tree -- is on its way. A 40-foot spruce will arrive at Millennium Plaza in downtown Yakima around 10 a.m. Monday.
