Highway 12

Fire officials say residents will be allowed through the Highway 12 road closure to make access to their property with proper proof of residency.

The Lodgepole fire could impact the route if the fire grows and more resources are needed.

No change in acreage or containment of the Retreat/Rimrock fire over the last day.

Troopers say 58-year-old Jeffrey Spiekerman was trying to pass multiple vehicles when he lost control and his vehicle left the roadway and crashed.

The crash was reported at about 2:30 pm when 23-year-old Travis Taft of Yakima was driving westbound on Highway 12 trying to pass another vehicle

Yakima Police say they continue emphasis patrols to try and keep more people from being injured or killed in a crash.

Washington State Patrol Troopers say a semi-truck driver crashed into a passenger vehicle at about 6:45 am Wednesday.

An officer spotted the two vehicles on East Yakima Avenue but they refused to stop for the officer.
