The 162nd Annual Yakama Nation Treaty Days Commemoration Pow Wow took place at Whiteswan, WA. Many people came from all over the Northwest, even from Alaska. This Pow Wow commemorates the Treaty of 1855. The year the signing of the treaty took place.
This Saturday (Sept 17), the American Indian Business Leaders, a chapter of Heritage University, and the Native American Club are hosting the First Annual All-Nations Pow Wow.

On the weekend of June 10-12, the Yakama Nation commemorated the Treaty of 1855. A brief history note: The treaty was signed on June 9, 1855. The tribe is the biggest reservation in Central Washington, with 11,000-plus enrolled members and situated on 1.1 million acres. The weekend kicked off with a parade in Toppenish and a softball tournament. The Pow Wow was in White Swan.
In a couple of weeks the Yakama Nation will be Commemorating, or recognizing the Treaty of 1855. There will be a lot of activities that will take place. From the Pow Wow and the Rodeo in White Swan, WA. To the Miss Yakama Nation Pageant that will be held at the Cultural center in Toppenish, Wa.

This past weekend the Yakama Nation celebrated the Treaty of 1855. So what that means is that we celebrated our tribal recognition. There were many events, from parades to softball tournaments. Even the annual rodeo. And of course the Pow Wow in White Swan...
So with all of festistivites happeing throught the Yakima Valley to celebrate the 4th of July. There are many options to choose from. Down in Toppenish there has been the Topppenish Pow Wow where it was held at the Indian Village near the rodeo grounds.
As a member of the Yakama Nation and involved in whats called the pow wow trail to most natives. The 157'th Annual Treaty Days Pow Wow in White Swan was this past weekend.
