Hey, so remember when Showtime would only ever officially confirm Kyle MacLachlan among its Twin Peaks revival cast, despite the myriad of casting leaks over the last few months? Get ready for the opposite problem, as the official 2017 Twin Peaks cast lists off a whopping 217 members, previously unannounced, new and returning alike.

The secrecy of Twin Peaks can surely drive fans to madness, thus far only confirming a premiere in early 2017, but there’s good news. Not only has Naomi Watts been confirmed to reunite with creator David Lynch for the Showtime revival, but Lynch too will reprise his on-camera role, among other additions.

Well this is not great news. After months of excitement over the prospect of a Twin Peaks revival series with original creator David Lynch, it seems as though negotiations have fallen apart. What was once a promising development that would put Lynch back behind the camera for the first time in years has now become a disappointment, as Lynch has departed the project.

Now that Showtime has picked up the old "Twin Peaks" and announced it will continue the series after 25 years, my wife and I have decided to watch the entire series again. Thanks to Netflix and the fact I have the box set, we're pacing ourselves. Showtime shocked us all with the announcement that ‘Twin Peaks’ would return as a series in 2016 under creator David Lynch, though predictably few details were available just yet. Now, the most burning question about the darkly surreal drama’s return has been answered, confirming Kyle MacLachlan’s reprisal of Dale Cooper.

My favorite TV show of all time, which starred Yakima's Kyle McLaughlin and was filmed mostly in North Bend and Snoqualmie, is coming back with new episodes. I can't wait!
