New forecasting from the National Interagency Fire Center shows North Central Washington will be especially at risk for wildfires this summer.

For me, the biggest lesson I’ve learned is that Washington is actually a hip, trendy, and fun place to live, even if it's in a small town.

A press release says every year 85% of all wildfires are human-caused and each year escaped campfires are the main cause of the fires.

Last year was a big challenge for wildland firefighters in Yakima and Washington State.

Just over 6,800 acres of prescribed burning is planned this spring, but not all planned acres may be completed if conditions are not favorable.
