Organizers of a gathering this weekend say it's time for Yakima to stand as one and take back the community.

Yakima Unity is hosting a free "Stop the Violence" event this Saturday (April 30) from 1-4 p.m. Miller Park. 513 N. Third St. in Yakima.

Yakima Mayor Avina Gutierrez plans to attend, along with City Council members Dulce Gutierrez and Carmen Mendez.

The gathering features live music, local DJs, food, drinks, jumpers for the kids, face painting and a resource booth offering ways you can get involved in your neighborhood.

Musical performers include M Statues, Coaster, Mia Lenay and a ton more.
