We've had a fairly mild winter in the Yakima Valley so far. A minimal amount of snow in the valley and plenty in the mountains. You're welcome. After all, it's what I've been praying for so, I guess my message got through. Although come to think of it, I guess the One answering the prayer should be getting the credit. So be it.

However, don't put away those winter coats, gloves, scarves, and hats just yet. There is plenty of winter season left and we'll be feeling the bite of winter cold later this week in fact.

Last week, it was the warning of three days of steady winds blowing that caught our attention. Those winds came, blew, very hard at times, and among other things, transferred a mass quantity of leaves and debris from my neighbors' yard to my back patio.

This week, the National Weather Service is forecasting a cooling down, which has already begun. By Thursday, the forecast is calling for a 50% chance of snow, with a high temperature of 25. (remember Saturday was 58 degrees?) The overnight low is projected to get down to 10 degrees Friday night.

It doesn't look as though there will be much in the way of snow accumulation, half-inch possible, but it's going to be cold and gray beginning Wednesday and through the weekend.
