Are 2Gether Planning on Reuniting?

Are the members of the MTV-created fictional boy band 2Gether getting back together? A report from TMZ suggests the guys want to reconnect to make new music and film a parody documentary that would capture their reunion.

Perhaps inspired by the successful New Kids on the Block reunion, Alex Solowitz, who portrayed “The Bad Boy” of 2Gether, told TMZ that he and his bandmates are excited about the idea of filming a new satirical documentary that would be much like their old MTV show. He says the band is ready to go, but they need to get approval from MTV first.

Any reunion would not include Michael Cuccione, who portrayed “The Cute One.” Cuccione died in 2001 at age 16 after a lengthy battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a form of cancer. The band promises to donate a chunk of the proceeds from a reunion to the Michael Cuccione Foundation for cancer research.

Like current Nickelodeon stars Big Time Rush, 2Gether were put together for a TV show and ended up experiencing legitimate chart success. 2Gether started as a parody of boy bands like ‘N Sync, Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees but soon found themselves opening for Britney Spears on tour.

The band released two albums and had semi-successful singles with ‘U + Me = Us (Calculus)’ and ‘The Hardest Part of Breaking Up (Is Getting Back Your Stuff),” which, if you ask us, was one of the best songs of the entire ’90s boy band era. Seeing as how there’s no chance of an ‘N Sync reunion, we would love to see 2Gether hook up once again!
