After securing an actress to play Aaliyah in the upcoming Lifetime biopic, two more roles have been cast for the project.

According to The Wrap, longtime Aaliyah collaborators Timbaland and Missy Elliott will be played by Izaak Smith and Chattrisse Dolabaille, respectively.

Both Timbo and Missy have worked with the late songbird on her two albums, ‘One In a Million’ in 1996 and her final self-titled project, before her death in a plane crash in 2001.

Smith and Dolabaille are relatively unknown actors. Smith previously appeared in such films as ‘Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief’ and ‘Mirror Mirror,’ while Dolabaille is a Canadian singer and dancer.

This casting news comes just after producers announced that Alexandra Shipp was confirmed to replace Disney star Zendaya Coleman in the lead role in the biopic, tentatively titled ‘Aaliyah: Princess of R&B.’

Other real-life personalities have been casted for the movie as well. Roc-a-Fella Records co-founder Damon Dash, who once dated Aaliyah, is being played by Anthony Grant, while Lyriq Bent will play Aaliyah’s uncle Barry Hankerson. The songbird’s parents will be portrayed by Rachael Crawford and Sterling Jarvis, and her brother Rashad will be played at different ages by A.J. Saudin and Jesse Sukunda.

The Lifetime movie, which is being executive produced by Wendy Williams, has sparked some controversy. Aaliyah’s family previously told The Wrap that they were against the film, saying that they weren’t contacted by Lifetime until after the network announced the project.

No word if the family will file an injunction to stop the production of the movie.

‘Aaliyah: Princess of R&B’ resumes filming this summer with a planned fall premiere date.
