Adele -- still reeling over the shocking dissolution of one of Hollywood's most unreasonably beloved pairs -- dedicated her New York City concert to former power couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie last night (September 20).

“I need to address the elephant in the room,” she reportedly told the crowd at Madison Square Garden, according to several fans who tweeted about the show. “Private lives should be private, but it’s the end of an era!”

As the undisputed queen of deeply emotional, weepy breakup songs chock full of nostalgia and unrelenting pain (sorry, Taylor), Adele's decision to publicly work through her grief regarding the Brangelina breakup at her own concert -- which she reportedly referred to as "two hours of misery" -- is a fitting one. Haven't you ever heard "Someone Like You"?

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt yesterday after two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences, and asked for full physical custody of their six children. The announcement sent the general public into straight-up shock mode -- celebrities and all.

While confirmed details regarding the split are scarce, both Jolie and Pitt released separate statements about the impending divorce yesterday in which they asked the public to respect their privacy.

“The decision was made for the health of the family,” said Jolie’s attorney Robert Offer. "She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.”

Pitt, meanwhile, told PEOPLE, “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”
