Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson Responds to B.o.B.’s Claim That the Earth Is Flat
B.o.B. thinks the world is flat, and provided his thoughts on why in a bizarre Twitter rant that stretched from last night (Jan. 24) into this morning (Jan. 25). But world-renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson shot the rapper's reasoning down with a series of his own tweets. Tyson's explanation basically boiled down to the fact that the Earth is not flat and we can still be fans of B.o.B.'s music.
"Flat Earth is a problem only when people in charge think that way," said the noted scientist. "No law stops you from regressively basking in it.
"Duude -- to be clear: Being five centuries regressed in your reasoning doesn't mean we all can't still like your music," he continued.
B.o.B.'s evidence includes a picture of himself standing with two cities in the background with the caption, "The cities in the background are approx. 16 miles apart..where is the curve? please [sic] explain this" and observations like, "No matter how high in elevation you are...the horizon is always eye level...sorry cadets...I don't wanna believe it either."
The rapper eventually responded to Tyson's tweets but the astrophysicist has not replied back. B.o.B. is still tweeting that the Earth is flat as of press time. Unsurprisingly, the artist's mentions are on fire with insults, jokes and the occasional corporate partner trying to butt in
