Family and friends gathered to bid farewell to Bobbi Kristina Brown on Monday (Aug. 3), as she was buried next to her mother, pop icon Whitney Houston.

According to NJ.com, a gold hearse carrying the late 22-year-old singer arrived at the Whigham Funeral Home, which also organized Whitney’s funeral in February 2012. A private memorial service took place before the burial at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, N.J.

Among the mourners were Pat Houston, Bobby Brown, Dionne Warwick and Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother Cissy Houston. About 90 minutes later, the hearse drove to the cemetery followed by several black SUVs carrying family members.

Local residents and fans waited outside of the cemetery entrance to pay respect to the Houston and Brown families. For one fan, it brought a sense of "Jersey pride" to attend the cemetery of Whitney's beloved daughter.

"Whitney was born here and we came out to support a fellow New Jerseyan," Michael Tarashuk told NJ.com. "Whitney is looking down from above, and we wanted to support her and the family."

Bobbi Kristina's burial plot is next to her mother's grave site. They are both buried beside Whitney's father, John Russell Houston. All grave sites are guarded year-round.

TMZ reports that a photo of Bobbi Kristina has been sold to a media outlet for six figures, which, if this story is true, is despicable.

Apparently, the photo was snapped during the viewing, which took place days before the funeral. The alleged photog was paid $100,000 for the photo.

Bobbi Kristina died in hospice care on July 26, about six months after she was found face-down and unconscious in a bathtub in her Atlanta townhouse.

We send our condolences to both the Houston and Brown families. May Bobbi Kristina Brown rest eternally in peace.
