The event will take place at locations in Yakima and Sunnyside on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

Yakima County Crime Stoppers is again offering the opportunity to destroy sensitive personal records and documents at no charge. This may include old bank records, credit card  statements and offers,and other financial information. The amount of this material to be shredded is two banker's boxes or three shopping bags.

People can also bring unused and expired prescription medications for disposal. There is no limit on the amount of medicine to be disposed of. Items for shredding and medication must be clearly separated.

In Yakima, this event will be held at Solarity Credit Union at 410 Tieton Drive, In Sunnyside, it will be held at the Sunnyside Justice Center located at 401 Homer Street.

There is no charge for this service, but donations will be accepted by Yakima County Crime Stoppers.

In addition to Crime Stoppers, the event is sponsored by Solarity Credit Union, CI Shred, the Yakima and Sunnyside Police Departments, Leonard Rickey Investment Advisors, and Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.
