I'll paint the picture. You've had a long day at work, you come home to the kids being all up in your grill, you try to make something decent for dinner and, right when your tush hits your kitchen chair, the phone rings. It never fails. On the other line, it's someone who already doesn't recognize the way you say, "hello," so they butcher your name in a vague attempt to pronounce your last name correctly. At this point you are already beyond annoyed. After all, if they don't know how to say your name, they're apparently not that interested in you or anything about you - just your pocketbook.

Instead of yelling and screaming at them for soliciting at the only glancing moment of downtime you get in the day, here's an easy, simple, effective way to drop the call and put your number on the 'Do Not Call' list.

Press #9

That's it!

Most telemarketing companies support this feature. By pressing #9 when they're talking, it should drop the call immediately and put the number they just called on the 'no not call' list. Again, it doesn't work all the time, but it's better and worth the chance than just hanging up on them in a fit of rage only to have them call back right when you're in the middle of changing a diaper.

If there was only a way to send that used diaper down the phoneline to where they are. Until that technology exists, just press #9.
