This past Sunday, I decided that it was time for my daughter, Willow, and I to take a quick road trip away from Yakima.

Sometimes it just feels great to hit the road and keep on driving!

Our itinerary was to take a family photo at each of the "Welcome To" city signs in Roslyn, Cle Elum, Ellensburg (since Roadsnacks.net declared it as one of the most exciting cities in Washington state), Selah and then Yakima.

We arrived in Roslyn, parked the car and then walked across the street to the welcome sign and snapped a pic. Next, we drove to the city of Cle Elum, where I stopped to get some gas. The "Welcome To Cle Elum" sign was quite some distance from a place to park the car and walk, so I kept on driving to the gas station for a quick fill-up. But as soon as the tank was full again, Willow began to whine, "I WANNA GO HOME!"

So much for a road trip. We ended up driving all the way back home, passing up all of the freeway exit signs for Ellensburg, Selah and Yakima.

Lesson learned: You won't get very far on a road trip if you have a 5-year old in the car!
