fundraising drive for local charities. Recipients include the Yakima Valley Vet Center, Selah Food Bank, the YWCA of Yakima and Rod's House.

The campaign brought in more than 12,000 pounds of food (not counting toiletries stationery and clothing) and $15,000 worth of cash donations.

This year? Hey, who knows? Maybe they'll turn it up to 11!

Some of the deeds to watch for during the next 10 days:

  • KFFM's school drive. Schools around the valley will compete to see who can bring in the most food for a chance to "own" Townsquare's popular-music radio station for a day. (Whoever wins might even get to change up what music they're playing!)
  • KIT's "Round up for the cause." Townsquare's AM newstalk station is working with Powerhouse Grill to help stock up local food banks. From Oct. 1-10, Powerhouse Grill will ask customers to "round up" their bills and donate the difference to the 10 Deeds in 10 Days fund.
  • This Saturday, KATS will sponsor the Food for Thought Bike Run. Motorcyclists from all over the valley will head out for a poker run that wraps up with a chili feed. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. at Yakima's Owens Cycle -- and it's kickstands up at 10:30.
  • KATS is also teaming up with Moulin Brew for a charity car wash on Oct. 7. The event -- open to cars and bikes -- runs from 3 p.m.-7 p.m.
  • Grocery bagging for tips. Townsquare Media's radio personalities and volunteers from Bill Harris Used Cars, the YWCA and Rod's House will bag 'em up for tips and food donations  from 5-8 p.m. at the Safeway on First and Mead.
  • KDBL's Morning Bullpen, meantime, is living in a car for three days. Yup, from Oct. 9-11, the crew is car camping at Wray's Market Fresh IGA at 56th and Summitview to raise awareness for the cause and to solicit food donations.

Whew! That's a lot going on. Gimme five ... er, better make that 10.
