It’s Been One of ‘Those’ Days – Why My Headphones Didn’t Work.

We've all had those days where you'd forget your head if it weren't screwed on. Days where you pop something on the stove, but forget to turn it on, days where you can't find the sunglasses that are on top of your head... Today, I had one of those days.

My headphones wouldn't work and I couldn't figure out why.

When I stepped into the studios today, I put on my headphones but couldn't hear anything. I can't simply go without wearing headphones as when you turn the microphone on, the speakers in the studio turn off (so it doesn't cause feedback). Fortunately I had a couple of more songs to diagnose the problem.

I check that the correct buttons are pressed. They are.

I make sure the headphone volume is turned up. It is.

I make sure the microphone is turned on. It is.

But I can't hear anything. Maybe my cord broke or something. So, I take off my headphones and trace the cord down to the problem.

I haven't plugged them in, yet.

So, next time you press play on your DVD player and remember you haven't put the DVD in the DVD player, yet, know that you're not alone.
