Clarkson recently said that the only reason that she auditioned for ‘American Idol’ was to pay her electric bill.  She was currently living in Los Angeles at the time of the A.I. auditions back in 2002.  Someone told her that she should try out for the show because they pay you.  Clarkson had no Idea that it would turn out how it did.  All she could think about was paying her electric.

Today Clarkson is still very humble and can’t believe her career has lasted this long.  The only thing she said she wanted out of all this was to pay her electric bill and maybe make a connection to be a backup singer for someone. As we all know she went on to become the first winner of A.I. and much more.
