Nothing is holding back rap superstars Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. The Seattle duo has the rap game on lock right now. So it's only right that they grace the new cover of RESPECT. magazine.

The tagline is so apropos -- "The Independent Sensation That's Ruling the Hip-Hop Nation."

Mack and Lewis' debut album 'The Heist,' is nearing platinum status and their songs 'Thrift Shop' and 'Can't Hold Us,' featuring Ray Dalton, both reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Amazingly, the dynamic duo are doing this all independently.

In the interview, Macklemore revealed that despite their success they are still maintaining their independent work ethic.

“We took a gamble and we did it our way. And things just started popping off," he said. "We still do everything ourselves, though. We did a video shoot last night and I was moving lights and cleaning up equipment."

Meanwhile, their anthemic song 'Can't Hold Us' retains their No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the fifth consecutive week. This feat puts Macklemore as the most dominant music act on the chart in 2013.

Another song, 'Same Love,' is also climbing the chart even though it wasn't released as an official single.

In the meantime, you can catch Macklemore and Ryan Lewis on their U.S. tour.

The RESEPCT. issue -- with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis on the cover -- will arrive on newsstands June 18.
