The new James Franco movie featuring Selena Gomez, (parts of it were filmed on location right here in the Yakima Valley), “In Dubious Battle,” is not being shown anywhere in the Yakima Valley! HOW RUDE!

It is likely no fault of the theaters, because in most cases, a movie has to get the green light from the movie production companies based on likelihood of mass interest.

To be honest, I hadn’t even heard that “In Dubious Battle” was being released this weekend. Nevertheless, I am excited to see the movie and to see some of our local Yakima Valley residents featured as extras! Some extras even had to grow out their beards to get the chance to be in the movie!

PETITON TO BRING JAMES FRANCO'S MOVIE, "IN DUBIOUS BATTLE," TO THE YAKIMA VALLEY AT ONCE

We, the undersigned, lobby for the presentation of the James Franco movie, "In Dubious Battle," in the cities of Yakima and Sunnyside, Washington. James Franco and his movie crew held auditions in Yakima Valley for extras and he required men to grow out their beards for a role. In light of these burly demands from our men's hair follicles and precious minutes of life that they will never get back, we petition Yakima and Sunnyside theaters to do whatever it takes to get the green light from film distributors to release the film to us for our perusal. We, the undersigned, are willing to pay the required nominal movie theater fees and consume mass amounts of overpriced popcorn, candy, hot dogs and nachos with extra cheese and a few of those yummy jalapenos. While we will likely enjoy the movie, based on a book that some guy wrote about a battle (we presume, given the movie's title), we hereby reserve the right to watch the movie and give it horrible reviews, should the film fail to impress our distinguished film critiques. Ergo, we would like to see this movie sometime in the next few weeks before the excitement wears off.
