Perhaps the seven year curse is real, after all? Yet another second generation South Korean girl group is officially calling it quits: SISTAR will be no more after their comeback at the end of May.

The 4-piece girl group, which made their official debut with "Push Push" back in 2010 and dropped their first LP So Cool in 2011 (and even briefly became a source of distraction of an episode of Family Guy), will go their separate ways following the release of their final comeback on May 31, according to a note left by their agency, Starship Entertainment.

"Hello, this is Starship Entertainment. First, we want to thank all the fans who have cherished and loved SISTAR for the 7 years since they debuted. SISTAR will officially end their 7-year promotions as a group with their last album on May 31st. After our label and SISTAR talked for a long time, we have agreed to bring SISTAR to an end. SISTAR's disbandment is a very disappointing and a painful thing, but we believe that it is the best to support the road that each member wants. We will be doing our best to support the members' futures. SISTAR and the label thanks everyone once again for the large support we have received. Please show warm support and interest to the SISTAR members, who are standing at a new start in life. Thank you."

Since the news dropped, each member of SISTAR — Hyolyn, Bora, Dasom and Soyou — penned individual letters to their heartbroken fans on social media.

While each member's solo plans are still to be determined as to whether they'll continue to pursue music or dive into acting, the group is still planning to promote their final album together, featuring a lead single crafted by songwriting team Black Eyed Pilseung, which also penned "I Like That" and "Touch My Body" for the troupe.

The group's agency also shared a lowkey-sounding visual send-off featuring all four of the girls, as well as a short goodbye poem in the description.
