You hear him every weekday morning on "Brooke and Jubal in the Morning,"  the No. 1 morning radio show in Yakima, doing "Phone Taps" and "Second Date Updates" and the various characters he voices. But just in case you didn't know it, Jubal Flagg is a touring stand-up comedian. He brought his comedy act to the Capitol Theatre on Friday (Aug. 11).

Every Tuesday you can have a laugh while local comedians practice or try out new jokes at. Or watch someone trying stand up comedy for the first time. At the same time enjoy some food and have a drink. There are a couple of places here in Yakima where you can go to enjoy some open-mic comedy...

Every Tuesday night there are open-mic comedy shows here in Yakima. This is where comedians go and practice their jokes. Or for someone who has never done stand-up comedy, they can give it a try. And ever since I discovered open-mic comedy nights, I not only laugh, I also get other people laughing as well.

On Friday (May 12) The American Indian Business Leaders of Heritage University (or AIBL) presented the Wellness Through Laughter event. Local band Flying Buffalo provided live music, performing all original songs. There was also an open-mic comedy contest. People from the audience told some jokes. A few local comedians, including myself, told a few, too. Prizes were given out.

The Yakama Nation Legends Casino Hotel Presents. The Ladies of Native Comedy. With Teresa Choyguha as your Mistress of Ceremonies. Tonia Jo Hall with her character "Aunt Beachress." To Deanna M.A.D and Adrianne Chalepah. These ladies have made people laugh all over the country...

So I heard from some friends who are comedians here in Yakima that there are some places that do open-mic comedy. So basically it's a place for people who are trying stand-up comedy for the first time or for comedians who have doing comedy for awhile and need a place to practice their new jokes.

Latino Empowerment Advocate and Comedian Ernie G is coming to perform for the Yakima School District February 8th. Yakima High School students will get to hear his message - "do well on assessments and leave high school career and college ready" - with a comedic spin that appeals to all.
