Something very cool is happening this Saturday, April 12th. The West Valley Little League and the Yakima National Little League are collecting food donations benefiting Northwest Harvest to strike out hunger. Here's how you can help.

Both teams have already been collecting non-perishable food items and, this Saturday, April 12th, they're bringing all of the collected food to show how much they've donated. Northwest Harvest says it will be rewarding to see Yakima youth loading up food in their truck to help those that are hunger in their own community.

One in four children in the community doesn't get enough to eat. This is a kids helping kids event.

West Valley Little League fields are by Cottonwood Elementary at 1041 S. 96th. They'll be loading food after the ceremony and parade of teams is over.

Yakima National Little League will be at Elks Memorial Park at 911 Hathaway Street off 16th avenue. Opening day breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m with ceremonies starting at 10:00 a.m. They'll also have a collection bin on site if you wanted to drop food off during that time as well.
